Beginning the week of September 27, we will alternate between Spelling/ Wordly Wise tests and Grammar/Cold Reads. This means the week of 9/27, we will have a cold read assessment and work on Grammar skills. We will be completing the first few cold reads and writing assessments together. The following week (week of October 4), we will have Spelling and Wordly Wise.

*We will no longer be reading The Birchbark House in class. This was your student's summer reading, however, some students did not complete their summer reading. For those that read the book, it wouldn't hurt them to go back and listen to the book. The students can listen to the book using the links that I posted on Canvas. Please know grades will be taken so it is imperative that your student is prepared for class.

*Spelling words will be introduced on Wednesday, October 27. The test will be next Tuesday, November 1. There is no Wordly Wise this week.

*AR does begin this week for the 2nd 9 weeks. We will be taking the STAR test this week.
*Students may wear their Halloween costumes on Thursday, October 28. We will be on a Field Trip Friday, October 29. Students should wear a South Highlands t-shirt on Friday.
