Grade TK-2: "Creative Corner"
Activity: Learning Styles Collage
Objective: Identify personal learning preferences and styles.

Description: Students create collages reflecting how they learn best—using visuals, words, or hands-on activities. This encourages self-awareness and communication about learning styles.
Grade 3-5: "Explorer's Journal"
Activity: Personalized Learning Projects
Objective: Initiate and complete a self-directed research project.

Description: Students choose a topic of personal interest, research it independently, and present their findings creatively—whether through a report, presentation, or artistic representation.

Description: Students design and present their ideal learning space. They justify their choices, considering factors such as lighting, organization, and comfort.

Activity: Personalized Learning Portfolio
Objective: Compile evidence of personalized learning experiences.

- CCSS.ELA-LITERACY.W.11-12.6: Use technology, including the internet, to produce, publish, and update individual or shared writing products.
Description: Students curate a portfolio showcasing their personalized learning journey, including projects, reflections, and evidence of skills developed.
Rebekah Cline is completing her HS education by taking CPA classes, community college classes, and classes offered by iLead. At Cabrillo Point Academy, Rebekah has been able to pursue her personal interests of Advisor to the Girl Scouts of Orange County Board of Directors, Media Coordinator for the French Club at Fullerton College, President of the French Club at Fullerton College, and Team Captain of her Robotics team.

The use of IXL, an online platform, is a style of education that best fits this student's individual needs.
This is a high school student whose learning needs are best met through the online style of education. She prefers Edgenuity and the rigor, pacing, and flexibility it affords.
This student has demonstrated personalized learning by taking a college level class. She originally signed up for Spanish 1 and the college teacher told her the class was too easy for her and the student moved to Spanish 2. That teacher also told her the class would be too easy for her. She finally moved to a Spanish for Spanish Speakers class where she reads novels and participates in conversations with older students. She has visited to Spanish Consulate and is encouraged to study in Spain when she finishes high school. She received her first A in college. She was so happy to finally be able to attend a classroom with other students as she never has attended class outside her home.
This student is an amazing artist and uses his talents in his courses. In this case, he completed a political poster as one of his US History assignments.
To practice report writing, this student researched a topic interesting to them.
This student chose to create a diorama to show their knowledge of ecosystems.
This student was able to connect prior learning and interests by choosing to go on a science center field trip.

This sample is the sample used for the Biliteracy program. The student speaks Spanish and English and is learning how to write in Spanish. It demonstrates personalized learning because the Biliteracy program is optional and she wanted to be in the program to learn more Spanish and also receive a certificate in the future.
Zara made a trip to India and used her daily adventures as inspiration for journal writing.
This student is being supported with scaffolding to write at grade level. She dicates her ideas and her parents help her with a draft that she can later copy.
Kareem is maintaining his own calendar to gain these skills.
This student chose a science project that was interesting. She designed the project, came up with her own question, and had so much fun making learning personal.
