Course description: Students with no ability in English should begin here. Emphasizes listening, speaking, reading and writing skills at a literacy level and focuses on survival English skills, English sound/symbol correspondence, and reading and writing of simple English sentences. May cover topics such as the alphabet, numbers, colors, calendar information, time, weather, employment, health, community resources, and communication.
