Possible Match for Class - ESL 1A + 1S + LIBR 10: College Composition ESL and Linguistic Analysis

In order to enroll for ESL 1A, students must also register for ESL 1S and Library 10.

ESL 1A Course Description: Promotes standard college-level reading, writing, speaking and listening focusing on critical thinking skills, textual analysis, expository essay writing and research methods designed to prepare students for academic coursework across disciplines. This course is the equivalent of ENGL 1A. Prerequisites: Engl 100 or ESL 100. Co-requisite: ESL 1S. Hybrid Requisite: LIBR 10.

ESL 1S Course Description: Develops high-level grammatical usage, vocabulary development, explicit listening and reading strategies, presentation and pronunciation skills related to the thematic context offered in ESL 1A. Co-requisite: ESL 1A. Hybrid Requisite: LIBR 10.

Library 10 Course Description: Teaches information literacy and critical thinking skills and strategies. Covers disinformation and algorithmic bias, the commodification of information and the attention economy, library classification systems, search strategies, fact-checking strategies, source citation, and selecting diverse, credible, and relevant sources. May be offered in a distance-learning format.
