Year 8 - Day One

8.30am-8.50am

ARRIVAL - Senior Prefects will direct you to your form room.

8.50am - 9.30am

Meet the Principal, Vice Principal for KS3, Head of Year and your form tutor.

9.30am -10.50am

During this time the school photographer will take your photograph.  You will be given your bus pass, timetable and plan of the school. You will remain in your form room with your form teacher and Senior Prefects.

10.50am - 11.05am

BREAK - Senior Prefects will help you find the canteen, toilets etc.

11.05am - 12.55pm

Normal classes begin. Go to the classroom named on your timetable. The Senior Prefects will accompany you to show you where to go. .

12.55pm - 1.35pm

LUNCH- Senior Prefects will accompany you to the canteen or mezzanine. You can eat your lunch or have school dinner in the canteen/mezzanine.

1.30pm - 3.15pm

Normal classes. Go to the classroom named on your timetable. The Senior Prefects will accompany you to show you where to go.

3.15pm

DEPARTURE - You will be accompanied to the bus waiting area and shown how to board your bus safely.

Moving to a new school is very exciting but we also understand you may be feeling a little bit worried about the change. See a few words of advice below about what you can expect in September and how to help yourself settle in to life in the Academy. During Term 1, you will take part in the Yellow Brick Road programme with your form class which is a special programme designed to make the move to a new school a little easier for you. Enjoy the exciting weeks that are ahead of you and make the most of all the wonderful opportunities a new school brings!
