Welcome to Primary 3's Shared Education Page

Forest Fairytales

The pupils from Primary 3 in St. Patrick’s and Rasharkin Primary enjoyed learning in the outdoors and a trip to Portglenone Forest with Liz O’Connor from Forestry NI. The initiative involved a trip to Portglenone Forest, where the children built shelters, learnt about habitats, flora and fauna all of which linked to the World Around Us topic of Fairytales. The children were delighted with a day in wellington boots and jumping in puddles. The initiative also included trips to both outdoor spaces in St. Patrick’s and Rasharkin Primary School. The children enjoyed getting to know one another through ice-breakers and fun games. The children worked in small groups adopting different roles to complete a scavenger hunt around the playground. Other activities involved painting ‘Kindness Stones’ which were displayed around the playgrounds. The children and parents particularly liked the ‘small world gardens’ which were displayed for parents within the school. We have since made wall displays and developed connected activities which have cemented their fond memories and shared time together in 2022/23.
