Post 16

The College welcomes admissions to Sixth Form from our own Year 12 students and those who have completed Key Stage 4 in other schools. We believe we have a lot to offer our post 16 students with an extensive range of vocational and academic courses which are delivered both in school and through the Fermanagh Learning Community (FLC).

We value all our students as individuals and will endeavour to provide a tailored curriculum which will meet their needs and aspirations and will enable them to progress to many different career areas including university, apprenticeships and employment.

Sixth form students will also have opportunities to develop their skills in other areas through the Peer Mentoring and Paired Reading programmes and a number of students will be selected to act as School Prefects. A dedicated sixth form centre is available for students to complete their work in private study sessions.

All student applications will be considered individually. However, in general terms, applicants will only be considered if they have achieved:

• A minimum of 5 Level 2 passes at grade A*-C or equivalent including GCSE English and GCSE Mathematics (A grade D may be acceptable in GCSE Mathematics, depending on subject choices, but the student must complete a resit of the examination(s) in Year 13).

• Meet the specific entry requirements for your chosen subject combinations.

• Show evidence of good conduct, attendance, punctuality and contribution to the extra-curricular life of the school.

• A commitment to follow the rules of the College including uniform regulations.

•  A full commitment to the demands of the course ensuring all deadlines are met.
