I was born in Colorado and grew up in Parker. I attended a private school for two years and was homeschooled for one year before starting at Challenge to Excellence (C2E) in third grade. Fun fact—I was part of C2E’s very first classes when the school opened!
C2E is where I discovered my love of reading and learning. I was lucky to have amazing teachers, including Mrs. Stewart, Mrs. Sams, and Mrs. Baldermann, who inspired me to grow.
After graduating from C2E, I went on to Chaparral High School, where I realized my true passion was helping children.
I first studied Clinical Psychology at the University of Northern Colorado. While in school, I worked full-time at the Embassy Suites Hotel in Loveland, where I met my husband, Josh.
Inspired to learn more about the brain, I transferred to Colorado State University to study General Psychology.
After one semester, I realized psychology wasn’t the right fit for me. I then transferred to Grand Canyon University, where I studied Elementary Education.
While earning my degree online, I applied to C2E for an Educational Assistant position—and I was hired! Over three years, I worked in 4th grade, Kindergarten, 2nd grade, and 1st grade.
In 2017, I student-taught in 1st grade and was later hired as an Educational Assistant for the same grade. That December, I graduated Summa Cum Laude with a Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education. Soon after, I achieved my dream: becoming a teacher at the very same elementary school where my love of learning began.
I am so honored to be part of the C2E family again—this time as a teacher!
When I’m not teaching, I love spending time with my husband, Josh, and our two boys, Beckett and Carter. As a family, we enjoy:
Watching movies
Trying new foods
Playing together
Going for long walks
I also love cooking and baking. My mom and I often bake wedding cakes and other fun desserts, which has become one of my favorite creative outlets.
Some of my other hobbies include:
Listening to country music
Reading historical fiction
Going for walks
Thank you for letting me share my journey with you. I am truly grateful to be part of the C2E community once again—this time as a teacher, mentor, and lifelong learner!
