Welcome to Mrs. Molina's Class

A Letter from the Teacher:

Hello all!

I am very excited to have your child in my 2nd grade class! I am so eager to be able to learn and grow alongside them this coming year. My name is Natasha Molina. I have been passionate about teaching since I was a young student attending Challenge to Excellence. This school meant the world to my education and childhood. It is my honor to be able to teach your child as the teachers at C2E taught me.

To start off the year right, I am writing this to help you and your student understand our class requirements in conjunction with other vital information that will enable us to make this a very positive and rewarding year.  I feel as though open lines of communication between the parent, student, and teacher are the key to promoting an educational climate that is conducive to learning. I am looking forward to working with you and your child. Together we can make a difference!  You can help by sending us well-rested children with full tummies and a hug and a kiss still fresh on their minds. This sets the stage for a lovely day.

Please feel free to contact me if there is a question or situation you would like to discuss. I look forward to building a relationship with you and your child. I am confident this year will be an excellent one, full of learning and engaging experiences!

        Sincerely,

                Natasha Molina

Lunch:

Students will be able to pick from Hot School Lunch choices daily.

Snacks:

Your child will have 1 snack break:

Morning 9:15-9:25

Please send a water bottle and 1 snack with your child.

Please do not send snacks that require a spoon like fruit cups, jello, yogurt, colored drinks because it is hard to clean the carpets as these foods leave stains on the carpet. Students can have these type of snacks during lunch.

Nuts  Are Not Allowed in the Classroom Due to Allergies

Birthdays

Due to COVID, we can only bring in individually wrapped, store bought treats with the ingredient list available.

Birthday treats are absolutely allowed! Reminder, there should not be any nut as there are nut allergies. Please be sure to check what the treats are cooked in; for example, store bought donuts are sometimes cooked in peanut oil. Treats should be provided for each child in the class.

*If your child has an allergy, please send them with their own treats, so they can enjoy goodies with the class!

Also, a student’s birthday can be recognized by simply singing “Happy Birthday”.  No food is necessary.

In some cases, parents do not want the student’s birthday recognized. We can honor that request as well.

*Please be aware that not all religions recognize birthdays. It is our wish that all students and parents are sensitive and understanding of these circumstances.

Absences and Tardies

Attendance at school is important for every student. Frequent absences from school significantly affect your child’s performance and academic success. Please make every effort to have your child present each and every day. However, we understand that there are times when children need to be absent due to illnesses or other family issues.

If you know your student is going to be absent, I would be happy to give your student the work they may be missing ahead of time. If your student misses school, they will need to come ask me or subject’s teacher for the work they missed.

All students need to be in the room no later than 8:00 a.m. each day. All students arriving at school after this time must be signed in at the office by an adult. We have a lot of great morning routines, and we would love to see your student there by 8:00 a.m. to participate!

Conferences

If you would like to schedule a conference, please send a note with your child or an e-mail.  I will try to coordinate a time that is convenient for everyone involved.

Room Parents

I will be working with room parents this year.  These parents will help organize parties, special projects and events, etc.  All parents are important to us. No one will be left out. I would be happy to send home work to help with if you would like to volunteer in that way! Room parents will be called upon during the year to help with various activities. When help is necessary, I will send out an email! Also, if you are available please send me an email as well! I would like to thank each of you in advance for your help this year.

Parties are not the only important events we need help with! I am happy to have parent volunteers in the classroom. If you would like to volunteer, please contact me so I can plan for what aid is needed.
