Welcome to Mrs. Molina's Class
I am very excited to have your child in my 1st grade class! I am so eager to be able to learn and grow alongside them this coming year. My name is Natasha Molina. I have been passionate about teaching since I was a young student attending Challenge to Excellence. This school meant the world to my education and childhood. It is my honor to be able to teach your child as the teachers at C2E taught me.
To start off the year right, I am writing this to help you and your student understand our class requirements in conjunction with other vital information that will enable us to make this a very positive and rewarding year. I feel as though open lines of communication between the parent, student, and teacher are the key to promoting an educational climate that is conducive to learning. I am looking forward to working with you and your child. Together we can make a difference! You can help by sending us well-rested children with full tummies and a hug and a kiss still fresh on their minds. This sets the stage for a lovely day.
Please feel free to contact me if there is a question or situation you would like to discuss. I look forward to building a relationship with you and your child. I am confident this year will be an excellent one, full of learning and engaging experiences!
A Welcome from Mrs. Molina 😁
Remote learning students will have the same schedule as the in person learners. During the day, please have your student log on to the beginning of each class for instruction. I will teach the lesson at the beginning of class and dismiss your child when I am done giving instruction so they may complete their work independently. The instruction length may change from day to day as some lessons may be more difficult than others. I will be recording those pieces of lessons (kept online for 48 hours), so your child may rewatch if they need to!
Here is the schedule for your student. Please have them logged into our Google Meeting link at the beginning of each time. The times REMOTE students need to attend are in BOLD:
7:40am-8:00am-Morning Work/Journal Time

Folders, and primary composition books.
**Place headphones in a ziploc bag with students name on the bag as well
**Primary Composition books (please purchase composition books that have space at the top for picture and writing lines below it on the inside of the book)
In order to provide our students with the excellent educational climate they deserve, the students and I will develop details for our classroom rules. During the first few weeks of school, we will discuss the following rules and I will describe what our expectation for learning and behavior will be this year.
1. Listen and Follow Directions
2. Be Honest
3. Respect Your Classmates and Your Teacher
4. Keep Hands, Feet, and Objects to Yourself
5. Be Positive with Words and Actions
If a student chooses to not follow classroom procedures then they will be redirected to an appropriate behavior. If a child continues to choose not to follow procedures then the student will be given a reflection sheet to fill out about their choices. If the behavior is continued, then parents will be emailed about the incident with the help of the student.
This year we are taking PRIDE in our school. We have school expectations that we will practice and follow throughout the year. These expectations are a positive addition to our school culture and classrooms. Our school expectations are:
Every Thursday your child will be bringing home their Thursday folder. This folder will contain your child’s previous work they had completed. Please keep this work unless you are asked to return it. This folder will also contain important information and forms that may need to be returned to the teacher.
Students will be able to pick from Hot School Lunch choices daily. If you child will be ordering from the school, please have them memorize their lunch number.
Your child will have 2 snack breaks:
Please send a water bottle and 2 snacks with your child.
Please do not send snacks that require a spoon like fruit cups, jello, yogurt, colored drinks because it is hard to clean the carpets as these foods leave stains on the carpet. Students can have these type of snacks during lunch.
Unfortunately, due to COVID-19, we cannot bring in any outside birthday treats until further notice.
Birthday treats are absolutely allowed! Reminder, there should not be any nut as there are nut allergies. Please be sure to check what the treats are cooked in; for example, store bought donuts are sometimes cooked in peanut oil. Treats should be provided for each child in the class.
*If your child has an allergy, please send them with their own treats, so they can enjoy goodies with the class!
Absences and Tardies
Attendance at school is important for every student. Frequent absences from school significantly affect your child’s performance and academic success. Please make every effort to have your child present each and every day. However, we understand that there are times when children need to be absent due to illnesses or other family issues.
If you know your student is going to be absent, I would be happy to give your student the work they may be missing ahead of time. If your student misses school, they will need to come ask me or subject’s teacher for the work they missed.
All students need to be in the room no later than 8:00 a.m. each day. All students arriving at school after this time must be signed in at the office by an adult. We have a lot of great morning routines, and we would love to see your student there by 8:00 a.m. to participate!
Also, a student’s birthday can be recognized by simply singing “Happy Birthday”. No food is necessary.
In some cases, parents do not want the student’s birthday recognized. We can honor that request as well.
*Please be aware that not all religions recognize birthdays. It is our wish that all students and parents are sensitive and understanding of these circumstances.
If you would like to schedule a conference, please send a note with your child or an e-mail. I will try to coordinate a time that is convenient for everyone involved.
*Due to COVID-19, our school is not allowing volunteers to enter for safety reasons. When this changes, I will be happy to have volunteers!
I will be working with room parents this year. These parents will help organize parties, special projects and events, etc. All parents are important to us. No one will be left out. I would be happy to send home work to help with if you would like to volunteer in that way! Room parents will be called upon during the year to help with various activities. When help is necessary, I will send out an email! Also, if you are available please send me an email as well! I would like to thank each of you in advance for your help this year.
Parties are not the only important events we need help with! I am happy to have parent volunteers in the classroom. If you would like to volunteer, please contact me so I can plan for what aid is needed.
