Dear Parents and Guardians,
As we continue through the school year, I want to share how we are working with your children on self-care skills, including recognizing when they need to use the bathroom, using the toilet on their own, and cleaning themselves afterward.
In class, we are:
  • Encouraging children to notice and respond to their body's signals

  • Reminding them they can ask to use the bathroom at any time

  • Practicing washing hands and basic cleaning routines

  • Building confidence so they feel comfortable caring for themselves


You can help at home by:
  • Practicing wiping, dressing, and handwashing

  • Encouraging your child to tell an adult when they need to go

  • Choosing clothing that is easy for your child to manage independently


Accidents can happen, and they are a normal part of growing up. Please know that school staff are not able to change or clean children. If an accident occurs, we will call you right away so you can come to help your child. We will make sure your child feels comfortable and cared for until you arrive.
We recommend sending a spare set of clothes (underwear, pants, socks, and a bag for soiled items) to keep at school in your child's backpack.

Open Court: Unit 3 Lesson 3  What’s the Weather?

Reading: Working with Weather and Snow Day!! Essential Question: How does weather affect you? How do weather forecasters help people?

Vocabulary: cozy, fort, pile, report, soft, stack, throw, warn.

Sight Words: List 5: no, us, are, come 

SRSD Writing: Answer who and why in the open court story then draw a picture and  write a gist about it. 

Handwriting: Letters Dd and Ss
