Math Homework Reminder
Module 16, Lessons 1–7, is due on Wednesday, October 28th.
On Friday, I will send home the new homework schedule and post it on my website. You can access my website here.
Important Homework Reminders
Moving forward, please follow these homework rules:
Do not turn in homework early for any reason. Homework must be turned in on the due date listed on the schedule.
Please follow the homework schedule. I plan homework around when we learn each lesson in class.
Make sure your child writes their first name on every homework assignment.
Why Is It Important to Wait?
Please do not have your child complete homework before we learn the lesson in class. Here is why:
Students need to learn the skill first. They need to understand the lesson before answering the questions.
Early homework can cause confusion. Students may try to answer questions about skills they have not learned yet.
Homework is practice. It helps students review what we have already learned in class.
The schedule follows our lessons. I plan the homework so students can practice the right skills at the right time.
Students can build good habits. Turning in homework on the due date will help students remember to bring it to school. I will remind the class when homework is due, making it easier for students to remember to turn it in.
Please do not send homework to school before the due date, even if your child finishes it early. I need all students to follow the same schedule so their homework matches our classroom lessons.
Sometimes I do not notice a missing name until I grade the assignment. If the homework has no name, it may receive a zero because I cannot identify whose work it is.
