I will send a SignUpGenius link or email if we need party supplies.
I may also ask for parent volunteers to help.
I will always email you ahead of time about parties.
Our class parties will be for:
Halloween
Holiday Season (Winter)
Valentine’s Day
End of-Year Kindergarten Celebration
Kindergarten Graduation
Treats must be store-bought and nut-free.
We celebrate summer birthdays as half birthdays during the school year.
I will let you know a week before we celebrate.
Treats are optional – you do not have to send anything.
We have 26 students in our class.
Good store-bought treat ideas:
Goodie bags
Cookies
Dunkin’ Donuts (same kind for everyone)
Cupcakes
Important:
If you plan a birthday party outside of school, you must invite the whole class.
If not everyone is invited, do not send invitations to school. This helps protect students' feelings.
Parents may not attend birthday parties at school.
Students must wear uniforms on their birthday unless it happens to be dress down day.
Students cannot bring toys to school.
Only allowed on special days or for Show and Tell.
I will take photos of students during class and fun activities.
I will share them on Class Dojo with families to see the pictures.
If you do not want your child in photos, please email me.
Our Mighty Mammoth of the Week
This year, we will celebrate a different student each week as our Mighty Mammoth of the Week! This is a fun way to help every child feel special and for us to get to know each other better. Every student will get a turn. I will send home a special folder the Friday before your child's week to give you the weekend to prepare.
Here's what a Mighty Mammoth's week will look like:
Monday: "All About Me" Poster Your child will bring in a poster with pictures or drawings of their family, pets, and favorite things. I will provide the poster template for you to complete at home.
Tuesday: "Read Aloud Role Model" Your child gets to bring in their favorite book from home for me to read to the class.
Wednesday: "Show and Tell" The Mighty Mammoth can bring in one special item from home to share with the class and tell us why it's important to them.
Thursday: "Classroom DJ" Your child will choose a few of their favorite kid-friendly songs for us to dance to during a special movement break.
Friday: "Next Mammoth Reveal" To end their special week, the Mighty Mammoth will get to draw the name of the next student from a hat.
I can't wait to celebrate every child as our Mighty Mammoth of the Week!
