Action Steps

  • Create a Cal State Apply Account

  • Input information in your CSU Application Account (Starting October 1)

  • Submit CSU Application (October 1-November 30)

Reminders

  • Use Cal State Application to apply to any of the 23 campuses

    • $55 fee per campus, but students who qualify for fee waivers due to family income can apply to up to 4 CSU’s for free

  • No need to submit official transcripts or AP/IB scores when applying

    • You must self-report your grades and any AP/IB scores, and you will be required to submit your final transcript and AP/IB scores once you commit to the school

A campus receives more eligible applications for a specific undergraduate program (major) than there are enrollment spaces available.

Campus Impaction:

A campus receives more eligible applications than there are enrollment spaces available for the class level (freshman and transfer)

All undergraduate programs, pre-programs, and undeclared/undecided programs are impacted for the following campuses:

  • Cal Poly San Luis Obispo

  • Fresno State

  • Cal State Los Angeles

  • CSU Fullerton

  • CSU Long Beach

  • San Diego State

  • San Jose State

The following majors are more selective and will often require a higher GPA than other majors:

  • Nursing

  • Engineering

  • Psychology

  • Biology/Biological Sciences
