Shared stories by our Alumni
Being a Tech Champion taught me so much that I didn’t know before valuable skills that I still apply today. Looking back, my time in this role was truly one of the most memorable parts of my school journey.
Along the way, I made lifelong friends while helping my peers, juniors, and teachers. To me, being a Tech Champion was never just about fixing devices or troubleshooting. It was about learning crucial lessons like internet safety and finding creative ways to spread that awareness across the entire school.
I am incredibly lucky to have had the unwavering support of our Tech Champ teachers, Mrs. Lee Su Ping, Ms. Alamel Moghan, Mr. Tan Kok Boon, Ms. Hu Shuangxi, and Mr. Alvin Chong Chee Leong as well as our school leaders. Thank you for always backing me and the team.
Being a Tech Champion is a true leadership role, one where we lead by example even long after graduation. A responsibility like this isn't something you easily forget. We poured our blood, sweat, and tears into leading, but we also had an unforgettable, fun time doing it.
To the Tech Champs of the past, present, and future: "Once a Tech Champion, always a Tech Champion.”

Being part of Bowen's Tech Champion leadership team was one of the most defining chapters of my time in school. This wasn’t just about managing devices or troubleshooting systems, it was a lessons about accountability, problem-solving under pressure, and learning how to lead by serving others with a smile and a little bit of chatting.
I was incredibly fortunate to be guided and supported by Mrs. Lee Su Ping, Mr. Tan Kok Boon, Ms. Alamel Moghan and School Leaders, who didn't just give advices, but genuinely invested in my growth and others too. Their patience and mentorship made our challenges into lessons of resilience, and our team into a tightly knit community.
Navigating those responsibilities alongside driven peers taught me that true leadership means showing up for your team, helping them when needed and a foundation that I will always carry with me forever.

A year of being a Tech Champion EXCO made me learn a lot and I had so much fun leading, learning and working together with all my fellow Tech Champions.
One thing I really enjoyed about Tech Champions was all of the wonderful student leaders who were not just fun to be around, but were also incredibly reliable. The teachers and friends I had would always try to support me whenever I was at my lowest and I feel absolute gratitude for them. I feel that without their care and concerns, I would not have enjoyed being in Tech Champions as much and it probably would not have much of an impact in my school life.
I feel that as a Tech Champion EXCO, one thing that really helped me to grow and learn as a person was to be very receptive, open to feedback and advice from my teachers and peers. Whenever I worked on projects, I would usually send drafts and prototypes of the videos I work on to the teachers and peers to ask for feedback, and using the feedback to polish my projects which really helped me to improve them exponentially. I feel that constantly wanting to improve through their feedbacks is a really useful skill that I picked up and is a skill that tech champs and students in general should pick up as well.
My experience as a Tech Champion was also incredibly enjoyable as I had a enthusiastic, expressive and energetic personality towards everything, making sure that in most of the things I did as a tech champion, I had fun doing it. This makes my experience working for Tech Champions incredibly fun and bearable too, so I hope that future tech champions will also be able to find the fun in working on the projects in Tech Champions.
Overall, being a Tech Champion is an experience that will remain with me for as long as I live.
