GRADUATION REQUIREMENTS
All students must meet the following requirements in order to graduate with a Mt. Hope High School Diploma
Maintenance and active engagement with an Individualized Learning Plan (ILP): Each Mt Hope High School student will continue to actively engage with their ILP. The guidance department, parents and members of the Mt. Hope Community will provide assistance and support to students as they engage with their ILP and its activities. The Individualized Learning Plan contains such components as an assessment of skills, values, interests, the creation of goals, and it is aligned to the course selection process. The graduation portfolio will reflect interests identified in the ILP.

Mathematics (algebra I, Geometry, Alg II) - 4
Science - 3
Social Studies - 3
Physical Education/Health - 2
World Language - 2
Art and/or Music - 1
Additional Coursework for Credit/CTE - 4
Total Credits - 23
PERFORMANCE-BASED GRADUATION REQUIREMENTS: Performance based diploma assessment means multifaceted assignments and or experiences that serve as a culminating demonstration of a student’s applied learning skills and knowledge of one or more content areas. Successful completion shall include demonstrations of both applied learning skills (critical thinking, problem solving and communication) which can be demonstrated in classroom and non-classroom settings and proficiency in one or more content areas. * It is the expectation of the Bristol Warren Regional School District that students may satisfy this requirement by successfully completing the AP Capstone Diploma or through work-based learning opportunities as shown below
REAL WORLD RELEVANT PROFICIENCY REQUIREMENTS : Students shall successfully demonstrate proficiency in the following subject areas to provide them real-world relevant skills that will develop skills and support their success in participating in society, thriving in the 21st century economy, and in securing their own financial security.
STATE ASSESSMENTS
➤ Grade 9: PSAT 9
➤ Grade 10: PSAT 10
➤ Grade 11: SAT and NGSA (Next Generation Science Assessment)
These assessments are taken according to a timetable determined by the Rhode Island Council on Elementary and Secondary Education. COLLEGE AND CAREER READINESS REQUIREMENTS
Each graduating senior will be provided information on postsecondary opportunities including but not limited to, college, career, apprenticeship and the military. Students must complete a resume prior to graduation as well as at least one of the following:
• Complete/submit to US.DOE the free application for federal student aid (FAFSA)
• Complete/submit to the Office of Postsecondary Commissioner the free application for federal student aid • Waiver (parent/legal age student) if refusal to complete such applications as listed
• Waiver if not able to fulfill requirements due to extenuating circumstance
Completion of a Council Designation: Commencing with the class of 2028, students are required to earn a diploma plus credential that is recognized and valued by RI’s postsecondary education institutions.
