Who should I contact?
There are always exceptions, but in general, we encourage people to reach out as indicated below:
TEACHER
student issues
a parent/teacher meeting
classroom instructional activities
student academic performance
student behavior
SCHOOL OFFICE
anything time-sensitive about a student
school-wide event details
calendar questions
SITE PRINCIPAL
school programs
unresolved classroom concerns (after contacting the teacher)
questions or suggestions about school-wide issues
student safety at school
DISTRICT OFFICE
unresolved school site concerns (after connecting with the school)
facilities
budget
district-wide policies
Which tool should I use?
Outside Organization Information Dissemination
Friday Flyers: Pending approval by the Superintendent, all outside agency distributions will be combined in a single Parent Square message on Fridays.
Individual parents cannot utilize the parent communications system for dissemination of information. Any outside agency that wishes to share a flyer or information via district-wide communication must get the approval of the Superintendent and generally meet the following criteria:
1. Must not contradict BVUSD mission, values or policies
2. Must directly benefit BVUSD students
3. Must be a non-profit entity serving students
4. Other as approved by the Superintendent
