Day 1 of the Future Ready Librarianship Professional Pathway focused on leading beyond the library. Our guest speaker, Pam Sandlian Smith, Director of Anythink Libraries, talked with participants about Anythink Libraries' mission statement "We Open Doors for Curious Minds" and the different ways the Anythink team actualizes this mission everyday for their community.
Pam led an activity that got everyone thinking about the purpose of their library and how to articulate this through a concise and impactful mission statement. Pam suggested we think in terms of a "tag line". Link here to review preliminary drafts of the mission statements created your colleagues under Pam's guidance.
Looking forward to Day 2 of the Future Ready Librarianship Professional Pathway on Sept. 18. The focus will be in redefining and aligning collections and curating digital content with our guest speakers Linda Conway, Director, Innovation & Design Center and Marci Milius, Learning Environment Designer, from Douglas County Schools.

Welcome to all our new teacher librarians. Many of the new TLs are former classroom teachers. Anna L. comes to us from the Boulder Public Library and of course, we all know Bobby L., former Educational Technologist and teacher.
Each new TL has been assigned a mentor from the Library Advisory Council (LAC). Please be sure to welcome these folks to the team either virtually or in person at a TL workshop.
