A NOTE FROM LEADERSHIP:
Dear BVCS Families,
One of our many tasks in Christian education is to provide the best possible academic program. To that end, we have introduced our staff to a model called Explicit Direct Instruction (EDI), which is a researched-based approach designed to strengthen student engagement, lesson clarity, and mastery of skills.
This is not a new instructional practice, but the refinement of good practices already in place. Fortunately, we have good staff members to work with. Our staff development instructors have commented on the great teaching they have already seen. We are developing a shared language and approach to excellent instruction, working together to ensure every student is challenged, supported, and prepared for what comes next.
We want our students to grow spiritually and academically, as they develop the knowledge, skills, character, and confidence they need to pursue God’s calling on their lives. As a Christ-centered, college-preparatory school, we believe excellence is a part of good stewardship.
Our students deserve the best possible education, and I am grateful for teachers who are willing to learn, grow, and pursue excellence together to create that best possible education. That shared commitment underscores the difference each student experiences at BVCS.
All the best,
David O’Leary, Superintendent
