Intake had gone through many designs before landing on our final choice. After 3 major design changes for an over-the-bumper design, the team decided to switch to an under-the-bumper design for ease of use and practicality of the concept.
Our bumper design was made to have an auto-centering feature so our launcher and articulation team didn't have to worry about anything besides getting their parts to function as designed.
A major issue with this part was trying to figure out what kind of rollers we would use. Our first idea was to just use sushi rolls to help grip the part along with Coulson wheels on top for support. Then we decided that it would be a lot simpler but more efficient to just use a rubber pole.
