Butler students are challenged to produce their own music using Soundtrap as a Digital Audio Workstation. In this unit, they cover topics like form, balance, recording, turning found sounds into music, remixing, and producing covers. Students are able to develop their aesthetic interests and identity as musicians, whether they play an instrument or not.
Students dive into the world of music literacy in class activities, rhythm play alongs, and interactive lessons. They also have the opportunity to songwrite based on comtemporary music practices.
What is music? Where did music begin? How was music used in wartime and revolution? How did music of the past shape our modern day music? All of these questions are answered in Media Music's exploration of the wide world of Music History.
