The program review process entails the submission of a written report detailing 6-8 assessments that provide evidence of candidate mastery of specialized professional association (SPA) standards or state standards. Program Review Leads are assigned by the Dean.
For all SPAs, CAEP has prescribed the required assessments for #1 – 5:
State licensure examinations of content knowledge (ETS Exams)
An additional assessment of content knowledge (Grades or Transcription Analysis)
An assessment of candidate ability to plan instruction, or (for non-teaching fields) to fulfill identified professional responsibilities (Lesson Planning, demonstrated with edTPA or a Candidate Work Sample)
An evaluation of clinical practice (Student Teaching Rubric some with content specificity)
An assessment that demonstrates candidate effect on student learning or (for non-teaching fields) the ability to create supportive learning environments. (Impact on Student Learning, demonstrated with edTPA or a Candidate Work Sample)
