Hello 🙋, welcome to the Department of Electrical and Electronic Engineering at Butere Technical Training Institute. 

We are committed to producing highly skilled, innovative, and industry-ready professionals through implementation of Modularized Curriculum for Competency-Based Education and Training (CBET) in Electrical installation, electronics, and related technologies. 

The department integrates practical learning in our state-of-the-art workshops and equipment, research, and industry collaboration to ensure a trainee upon completion acquires hands-on experience relevant to the modern workplace and is issued with a certificate by TVET Curriculum Development, Assessment and Certification Council (CDACC) which is the Qualification Awarding Institution for Butere TTI. 

Three forms of certification are provided to enhance employability, upskilling, flexibility in training and support Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL). 

• A trainee admitted into pursuing a given Qualification Level (3,4,5 or 6) and demonstrates competence in all the Units of Competency as given in the qualification level, he/she is awarded The Kenya National TVET Certificate.

• A trainee admitted in a certifiable element within a unit and demonstrates competence in that element, he/she may be issued Statement of Attainment certificate

• A trainee admitted in a particular Core Unit of Competence and upon demonstration of competence he is issued with a Certificate of Competency.

Modular training provides flexible entry and exit points, allowing learners to:

• Train part-time while working or managing other responsibilities

• Pause and resume learning without starting over

• Progress at their own pace

This is particularly beneficial for adult learners, informal sector (JuaKali) workers, and youth with limited access to continuous training opportunities.
