Networking I

Introduction to Networking and Computer Repair. Students will be introduced to how the Internet works and basic troubleshooting for networks. Students will learn how to build and maintain Small Office/Home Office (SOHO) networks. Students will be introduced to Internet Addressing, subnetting, and Internet Devices. In addition, students will develop skills to build and maintain personal computers. One of the fun projects in this class is to build a 3D printer, which incorporates assembling the computer/printer parts, loading the printer operating system onto the system board, configuring the settings, and troubleshooting to solve problems. By the end of the course, students will be prepared to take the Industry CompTIA A+ certification exam

Networking II

Networking II picks up where Networking I left off. Students will gain a greater understanding of the Internet and be able to create and connect to both local and wide-area networks. Skills range from building internet cables, configuring routers and switches, subnetting internet addresses, and troubleshooting. By the end of this course, students will be prepared to to take the Industry CompTIA Network+ certification exam.
