There are multiple different types of zombies, and they all have their own strengths and weaknesses that this page will cover! These don’t have to be your exact zombies. Again, just write what feels right for you!
Clicker
Clickers are blind, so they use a clicking sound for echolocation, like dolphins! They roam around a lot, investigating with their head tilts and clicking. They also lean against walls or stand motionless until they find prey, which then they will shriek to alert other zombies. And they are sensitive to sharp noises.
These zombies have a brutal grip and bite, which also compares to their head, which is terrifyingly hard.
However, they are blind, so they can be avoided by being quiet and slow. These zombies also are vulnerable to fire and explosives, along with how their clicks give away their location.
Crawler
Crawlers are extremely persistent and they usually lurk where people step without thinking, like under beds, cars, or even rubble. They cling onto legs, grab ankles, and pull at prey. Some zombies also cry or whimper or sound like a baby to lure in unsuspecting humans for prey.
They are hard to see and silent until it's too late. But, crawlers are very slow, easy to crush and they have a limited reach.
Mutated
Mutated could mean various different things. Some mutated zombies are animalistic, or even intelligent. Some are aware that hey are infected. They live in specific environments like the snow and jungles. These zombies are adapted to the environment with camouflage, gills, or even thick fur. Sometimes, these zombies can form groups or a group hierarchy.
They can have unique powers, like acid blood or venom spit. They can even command lesser zombies to do their bidding.
But, mutated zombies are rare and unstable, and sometimes, their mutation can cause damage to them over time. Some mutations come with sensory loss, sometimes blinding the zombie or making them deaf.
Runner
This kind of zombie is usually very frenzied and fast. They chase anything that moves or makes noise and they won’t stop attacking until this zombie physically can't anymore. They hide being corners or in rooms, bursting out when they hear something. They go to places with lots of noises and movement, which they can sense. Rarely, some of these zombies have fragments of speech or memory because they are usually newly turned.
These zombies are incredibly fast and strong, considering that they also don’t feel pain. They are unpredictable to what they are going to do next.
Regardless of their speed and strength, they tire out easily if they are still partly alive. They can break their own bones from charging into things and are easier to detect due to how loud they usually are.
Screamer
These zombies don't attack directly, and they are only useful for screaming when they see prey, calling a horde. Other than that, they just flee or hide afterward. Screamers wait quietly in corners, open areas, high ground, or doorways.
Their scream can summon huge hordes, their scream also disorienting prey. They are also difficult to reach or kill before they scream and alert others.
However, they are physically weak and they are only dangerous if it calls the horde. But they also have a delay before screaming, giving survivors and advantage to kill them quickly.
Stalker
A stalker zombie is somewhat like a crawler and is extremely patient. They usually hide in darkness and vents, avoiding open combat until they sense their prey to be alone or weak. They can hide under furniture and stick onto walls and ceilings in basements, sewers, and even abandoned buildings. These zombies are more active at night.
They are silent even when moving so they can surprise attack their prey. They are more agile than other zombies.
Fortunately, they aren’t as strong in direct combat and they are vulnerable when exposed. Also, light makes these zombies hesitate.
Tank
Tanks are a slow and lumbering type of zombie with a bulkier build. They only charge at people when provoked and are often very territorial of their area, which are very large abandoned areas such as gyms and warehouses. They can break down doors to reach prey and can throw chunks of themselves.
These zombies have high strength and endurance, along with their armored bodies, where even bullets don’t pierce the skin in certain areas. They are also frighteningly strong, and able to crush or throw enemies.
The weakness to having a bulthy body though, is that tank zombies are slow and are able to be outmaneuvered. Their weak spots are on bloated parts of their body or under their arms.
Vomiter
This type of zombie is an interesting type of zombie. They don’t chase but rely on ranged attacks. By ranged attacks, I mean that these zombies throw up acidic bile onto their prey before retreating and screeching to attract other zombies. They like to hide on higher ground for the perfect aim, preferring to ambush from a distance. These zombies hang out near chemical plants or toxic zones.
The acidic bile can burn skin, melt armor, and create a hazardous area. Their vomit can also blind and disorient, which can often up prey before other zombies come and finish the job.
Every zombie has a weakness, and this zombie's weakness is that it is fragile, so they are easy to kill at a close range. These zombies are also somewhat predictable, so you can dodge attacks if spotted early.
Walker
These zombies are the slow, clumsy, and moaning stereotypical zombies you usually see in shows, movies, or even Minecraft! These zombies are slow, easily distracted, and usually travel together in herds.
They are extremely dangerous when they are in a herd. They are relentless and they don’t tire out, so it is hard to kill them if you aren’t aiming for the brain.
However, these zombies are slow, and they can be easily trapped or outsmarted along with their poor reaction time.
