My name is Alex Powell and I am the Director of Bands at Liberty Middle School! I am a 2011 graduate of the University of North Carolina at Greensboro where I received a Bachelor of Music in Music Education. I started playing trumpet in band when I was in 6th grade! I also play flute, clarinet, saxophone, baritone, trombone, tuba, percussion, electric and acoustic guitar, bass guitar, and piano. They are all fun in different ways!

Outside of school, I enjoy composing music, cooking, running, cycling, and spending time with my family. My wife, Lydia, and I have three wonderful kids: Lucy (10), Nathaniel (7), and William (3).
