The Law and Public Safety pathway provides in-depth competencies and components for SkillsUSA. SkillsUSA is a national, nonprofit student organization that has developed over 10 million workers through active partnerships between employers and educators.
Hundreds of American industries have turned to SkillsUSA as the source for employees who exemplify "Champions at Work" in both skills and attitudes. SkillsUSA aims to empower its members to world-class leaders, workers, and responsible American citizens.
On March 22-23, 2019 (Thursday, Friday and Saturday) Burke County High School's SkillsUSA group competed against over 50 other schools in the state of Georgia. Students won first place in Career Pathway Law and Public Safety and second place in Building Maintenance.
Autumn Penvose, Brianna Rogers, and Toniya Wesby participated in Career Pathway Law and Public Safety,and won the gold medal. Christopher Jackson participated in Building Maintenance and won the silver medal. Congratulations to those students for doing an amazing job and displaying excellence.
