Criminal Investigations

Criminal Investigations is the third and final level in the Law and Safety program. In this course, students will continue their education by learning about:

  • Investigative theory
  • Collection and preservation of evidence
  • Sources of information
  • Interview and interrogation
  • Uses of forensic sciences
  • Case and trial preparation

Students will be faced with various tasks, including:

  • Defining the goals and objectives of criminal investigations
  • Demonstrating the ability to conduct proper crime scene investigations
  • Illustrating the use of forensic science for various statutory offenses
  • Organizing the criminal case(s), including field notes, reports, crime scene activities, and mandatory documentation of statutory warning.
