Octavius Catto Scholarship @ CCP
The first steps are to applly to Community College of Philadelphia and complete your F.A.F.S.A.
Students who are applying to CCP are eligible to recieve the Octavius Catto Scholarship.
To become a Catto Scholar, new, first-time college students must:
Have a high school diploma, Commonwealth Diploma or GED
Attend Community College of Philadelphia full time (12+ credits per term)
Be a Philadelphia resident (at least 12 months)
Complete the FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid) each year* and document an Expected Family Contribution (EFC) of $8,000 or less
Enter college ready or one level below college ready in both English and Math as determined by GPA or the placement test
The Catto Scholarship is considered last-dollar tuition. What this means is that once a students Federal/Government Financial Aid has been factored into their tuition, the Catto Scholarship covers the remaining cost of college so that the student's tuition cost is ZERO.
Additionally, the scholarship provides $1,500 each semester to assist with basic needs support ($250/month), including free text books, transportation and food expenses. The Catto team provides enhanced academic and career coaching, along with unique access to job opportunities!
Students have enhanced connection to services for child-care, mental health counseling, housing services and more!
Last-Dollar Tuition Funding (The Scholarship pays any balance after Federal Grant is applied, no loans!)
Textbooks will be paid for each semester
Students get $250 per month
Students get dedicated support staff including Success Navigators, an Assigned Coach, Advisor, and specialist in our Financial Aid, Career Connections, Single Stop.
