About Me

Counseling Experience

This is my 20th year working at Buckeye Elementary School, and my 26th year in the field of Education. During my work experience, I have taught a variety of grade levels including 5th, 6th, and 2nd grade. In addition, I have worked as the Director of Buckeye Safety Town for the past 7 years. I thoroughly enjoy working with kids of all ages! They never cease to amaze me with their resilience to adversity and their courage to try new things. I tell kids all the time that I have the best job in the world! I get to come to work everyday and see their smiling faces. I look forward to many more years learning and growing from the many life lessons the students teach me each day here at Buckeye.

Education

I graduated from the University of Akron with a Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education. After teaching for several years, I saw the need to further my education and I obtained my M.Ed. from Akron University in School Counseling. As a school counselor in the state of Ohio, I am licensed to work with students in grades Kindergarten through 12th.

A Little Bit About Me

I live in Valley City with my two daughters, husband, and 2 dogs, Sadie and Penny. We moved to the district when our daughters were young so they could attend Buckeye. In my free time, I enjoy reading, cooking ,shopping at antique stores, and working in my garden. I love being outside and spending time with my family and friends. In addition, I am obsessed with Pinterest and am constantly searching for new decorating ideas, recipes, and new things to try at school.
