I am an active member of my school community, as the Advisor of High School Student Council, member of the Leadership Team and PBIS Team, and the District Coordinator and Coach of Odyssey of the Mind.
The White House History Teacher Institute was the best professional development I ever had the opportunity to be a part of. A group of 29 teachers and I spent a week in Washington, D.C. working with the White House Historical Association to learn how to become ambassadors of White House History.
We each started the week by receiving a topic in White House history, which we were given time to research and to create student activities based on the topic. My topic was White House furniture.
We visited many historical sites like President Lincoln's Cottage, The President Woodrow Wilson House, and we even had the opportunity to tour the White House!
This was overall an amazing opportunity. Sign up today!
