As the Artistic Director of Katie Barlow Dance Projects since 2014, Katie Barlow has directed, choreographed and produced dance classes and events throughout Upstate, NY. She developed the dance fitness class, Flash Mob 101, originating at the JCC Binghamton in 2014 and additionally at the Arts Center of the Capital Region in Troy, NY as of Spring 2019. Katie has worked with local performing arts organizations to choreograph musicals including non- profit collaboration. These organizations include BLAST, Cider Mill Playhouse, JCC Binghamton, Making Strides, The Binghamton Chamber of Commerce, The Binghamton Pride Coalition and local restaurants.
As the Head of Upstate NY, for Book a Flash Mob, since 2008, her dance work has been performed at Destiny USA (filmed for Japanese TV), Colonie Center Mall and Upstate NY wedding venues. Katie is currently active as NYC Dance Week's Coordinator as well as their annual flash mob coordinator as well. In 2021, she choreographed and organized a Global Flash. Mob for NYC Dance Week, consulting choreographers outside of the country.
Katie had a great season filled with amazing wedding clients, musical performances, a flash mob in New York City and a performance for the Binghamton Chamber of Commerce's 50th Annual Dinner.

Description:
A flash mob happens when one person starts dancing, hundreds of people join in, and then life goes back to normal. Flash Mob workshops are a great fit for those with and without dance experience. I cannot wait to teach your students and or faculty a four-day, flash mob workshop to Can't Stop the Feeling from Trolls! It’s all about having fun, trying something new, and working together as a team. My cardio intense classes will give you a great workout and a new boost of confidence as you knock dancing in a flash mob off your bucket list. That’s right – you and your group will actually learn a dance and surprise the audience of your choosing! During this workshop everyone will learn the "Flash Mob 101" basics to intermediate dance moves. Here is the twist—the flash mob location will be revealed only to those participating. Each school will receive a video tutorial so students and faculty can practice the movement prior to and during the workshop period.
