Portable Planetarium
The Portable Planetarium is a full featured mobile planetarium that allows a class to explore the solar system, milky way galaxy, and beyond with a handheld remote. You can zoom in on the moon’s mare, the rings of Saturn, the Omega nebula, or points in-between.

Two new portable planetariums were purchased over the summer of 2018 and had a software update in 2020. The older systems have been retired.
Training on the new planetariums is REQUIRED prior to first loan. Contact Shaun Kurcoba at skurcoba@btboces.org for training details.

Planetarium Dimensions
The inflatable planetarium dome requires a large open area. The Dome when fully expanded is approximately 13 feet high and a diameter of 20 feet. Please ensure that the dome will have adequate space to fully expand to ensure picture quality and that no damage will occur to the system
