Sometimes students need a little extra help learning how to manage feelings, solve problems, or get along with others. In individual counseling, the school counselor meets one-on-one with a student for short-term, goal-focused sessions. Using games, books, videos, and other activities, we work on skills like calming down when upset, making friends, handling changes, and building confidence. These sessions are not therapy, but rather a way to support your child’s success and well-being at school. If a student’s needs require more intensive or long-term help, the counselor can connect families with community resources. School counselors maintain confidentiality, but we do not keep secrets. I am here to work as a team to best support our students, families, schools, and community! *If a student experiences a substantial change in service, a parent/guardian will be notified by your school counselor or building administrator.
