Students should enter quietly and prepare for class. All belongings must be stored in assigned locker, except a pencil! Students should read the attendance question, get out any supplies from needed from their table cubby and be in their seats BEFORE the bell rings.
There are three sections of class time: Skill Builder, Instruction and Studio Time. Skill Builder is an activity in their sketchbook or a mini assignment and is a focused time to build a skill and studio habits. These are formative assessments.
Instruction is when I will teach a new skill or demonstrate the next step of a project
Studio time is work time. When the studio is open, students must be working on art. If they are truly finished with a project, there are enrichment options.
Instruction,Students should remain in their seat unless instructed otherwise. All projects are done in class therefore time management and focus are very important. While you do not need to work in silence, we need to keep talking to a minimum and respect all others working with a low noise level. Sharing ideas and encouragement, however, is part of our art process and we will have times to talk and discuss!
Work space should be kept as clean as possible and supplies accounted for while working.
Sink should only be used when asked or instructed.
Remember, no phones which also means no ear buds!
After you take a photograph of your artwork, make sure your name and EAGLE teacher is on the back and place it in the turn-in bin underneath the drying rack. This is how I know it is complete!
Reflecting on your artwork and sharing your thoughts about the art making process is an important part of art. You will complete exit tickets and/or small reflections as you work on and complete your artwork.
"Art work is never finished, only abandoned."
~Leonardo DaVinci
While waiting for new instruction or assignments, you will have drawing prompt assignments that you may continue to work on or pick an enrichment activity to enhance your studio habits.
