As women who work in international schools, we are actively involved in raising and educating bilingual and multilingual children (often inluding our own children). This workshop aims to explore the beliefs about emergent bilingualsim that we base our educational and pastoral practises on, debunk some myths about bilingualsim and explore what current research tells us. We will explore how we perceive certain events and phenomena differently, depending on whether we use or perspective as an educator, parent or a linguist. Finally, we will dive into the habits and behaviours that are typical for the parents and teachers of bilingual/multilingual children.
