Select a book to read that interests you. You can read The Giver, but if you have another book in mind, that's fine. Please do not read a book you have already read.
Contact a friend (or friends) also reading a book and ask them to join you for weekly Google Meets with Mrs. Renca. They also need to be reading a book to share.
Begin reading your book. Read for as much time as you have available. I recommend at least 15 minutes per day.
Send Mrs. Renca an email about when you and your friend can Google Meet for 15 minutes this week. I will send you an invite to the meeting once I hear from you.
Be prepared to chat about 1. the characters in your book, 2. the point of view of the story, and 3. a favorite quote or passage from the book so far.
Looking forward to seeing you!!!

Step 2: Write your thoughts on a piece of paper while you think of a family member or someone in your community who might need a boost.
Step 3: Write a letter or make a card for that person. You can include art if you want to.
Step 4: Put your letter or card in an envelope, put a stamp on it and mail it!
