Post Language Development Self Analysis Essay
During my language development I exercised all aspects and immersed myself in the language. From visiting Mexican markets to speaking with someone one on one I was able to improve my comprehension and vocabulary immensely. I created a consistant habit of doing my Duolingo daily which allowed me to not forget words as easily and consistantly practice skills like reading, writing, and speaking. Without this daily habit it would have been very easy to get overwhelmed as a student with a full schudeule. However, I also incorperated other resources like reading news articles in Spanish. This exposed me to even more vocabulary and nuances within the language. Another resource I used was quizlet. I studied both more general termanology as well as medical specific terms. Because I want to go into a field like medicine, which services everyone and anyone, I want to be able to communicate with others who might not speak English, especially in a diverse place like America. Overall, while it was hard to find a clear path without someone else to tell you exactly what to do, I feel that self study presented the unique oppertunity for me to learn Spanish in a way that worked best for me. I was able to engage in movies, explore spanish culture through an activty that I love to do like baking, and form long term learning habits.
