Frankenstien in Baghdad was the focus of our fifth unit. In this modern-day novel set during the the time of American military presence in Iraq a "junk dealer" stitches body parts of bomb victims together to create a body that comes to life. With a mix of allusions to the original work of Frankenstein and political commentary, this book provided interesting discussions and work.
