The 2025 HOBY Ohio West Leadership Seminar will be held June 5-8, 2025 at Ohio Northern University in Ada, Ohio. It will bring together an outstanding delegation of over 200 high school sophomores to develop and refine their leadership skills, building a strong future for schools, communities, state and nation.
See Mr. Gleckler about this great leadership opportunity.
First semester exams are Wednesday, December 18th, Thursday, December 19th and Friday, December 20th. Exams represent 20% of a student’s semester grade.
Before taking their exams, students should review their study guides, get a good night’s sleep and eat a good breakfast. A student who does well on their exams can easily raise their semester average and help their grade in the course.
Thursday, December 5th will be our annual College and Career Day for grades 9-12. Each high school grade level will have their day filled with a variety of activities here at BHS, across the Bryan area, in Archbold and in Angola, Indiana. The objective of this day is to help our students be prepared for future decisions they will be making. Such decisions as attending Four County Career Center, post-secondary options available in the NW Ohio area, how to prepare for a job, and life saving skills.
If you have an appointment, you will have five (5) days after returning to school to turn in a doctor's note. If a doctor's note is not turned in within the five days, that absence will be changed to an unexcused absence.
Our students in grades 10-12 have completed their Career Survey. This survey was designed to help students and adults determine their strengths, talents and aptitudes. This information will be used in part 2 of this process. Part 2 is when career coaches will meet one-on-one with our students to help them explore potential career opportunities.
These one hour coaching session for seniors were October 15-18.
For our sophomores, their coaching sessions are November 12-15 in preparation for the Four County tour on December 5.
For our juniors, their coaching sessions are November 18-22.

The high school statistics class hosted a carnival to apply their knowledge of probability and expected value of games of chance. The Stats students worked in groups to create their own original game, calculated the probabilities and expected values of the game, and then built the game for guests to play. The students recorded data throughout the carnival and then reconciled actual earnings (of monopoly money) with their expected earnings. This is an annual event, and always a class favorite!
Senior Day of Service
Based on the idea of Mahatma Gandhi who believed "The best way to find yourself is to lose yourself in the service of others" BHS held their 3rd annual Senior Day of Service. Organized by Mrs. Arthur, the Class of 2025 spent the day of Tuesday, October 24th out and around the Bryan Community.

It is always nice seeing our high school students work with our middle school students. Recently, our eighth-grade students from Bryan Middle School, took part in the “Exploring Careers Hands On for 8th Graders” (ECHO for 8th Graders) program hosted at Four County Career Center. Career Explorers from the Career Center provided guidance to the students, helping them explore various career paths of interest as they prepare for their future. Pictured in the Precision Machining & Robotics lab are Bryan 8th graders (SECOND LEFT TO RIGHT) Mikayla Asbury, Luis Mesa-Ruiz, and Mason Grime with Career Explorer (LEFT) Wes Robinson (Bryan).
Six students from the Four County Career Center’s FFA Chapter recently participated in the 97th National FFA Convention and Expo in Indianapolis, themed “Engage.” During the convention, these FFA members took part in a range of leadership and team-building workshops and explored the college and career expo. The expo offered valuable insights into various agricultural career paths and opportunities for further education and training. Those attending from BHS and Four County Career Center was Brianna Collins (Far R) who is in the Veterinary Assisting program.
