We made it! Spring break is here, right to read week and grandparent/special friend day have both come and gone. Now is the perfect time to take a deep breath, enjoy the break and gear up for all that will make April and May AmAzInG months here at Bryan Elementary.
Upon our return from break it will be time for state testing in 3rd, 4th and 5th grades. While this can seem daunting and sometimes feel stressful or bring out some anxiety in students I can assure you all staff have been working hard in the classrooms to ensure students are prepared both academically and mentally.
While high achievement is a wonderful accomplishment we also want to celebrate hard work and growth. The idea of always bring one's best to the classroom has been and continues to be a focus in our upper elementary classes. Students will soon be setting individual goals for the upcoming testing season and at the end of April celebrating the successes that come with hard work and dedication.
We are setting goals and accomplishing GREAT things!

A Book Vending Machine is Coming to BE
A Huge THANK YOU goes out to the Kiwanis club of Bryan for their generous donation that will allow a great idea to become a wonderful reality. Mrs. Lindsey Bever, 5th grade ELA teacher and 5th grade ambassador advisor, along with two of the 5th grade ambassadors were invited by Mr. Kevin Schafer to share with the Kiwanis members how the idea of a book vending machine came about and some of the ways students will benefit from the project.
Right to Read Week and Grandparent/Special Friend Day
Bryan Elementary welcomed nearly 2,000 grandparents and special friends for our annual Grandparent and Special Friend Day celebration. Students and their guests participated in activities, showed off their learning, and had snacks. We love recognizing our grandparents and special friends.
Check out some photos of the day as well as Right to Read Week!
Mark your calendars for the annual Bryan Elementary Art Show that will again be hosted at the Public Library! Every single student will be evaluating work in their portfolio and selecting a piece to have on display!
WE CAN'T WAIT TO SEE MANY OF YOU AT THE OPENING RECEPTION ON MONDAY MARCH 31st!
Testing dates and subjects are as follows:
3rd, 4th and 5th - ELA - April 2nd and 3rd
3rd, 4th and 5th - Math - April 15th and 16th
5th only - Science - April 23rd.
Attendance on these days is very important as is being on time. Please try to limit appointments and planned absences on the scheduled testing days.
Students who have a good night's rest and a healthy breakfast will be at their best for these important state assessments.
