Preschool is ringing in the New Year by making festive hats. They are also learning about snowmen through sequencing activities. Students made melted snowmen and predicted how their snowmen might have melted. Preschoolers will be continuing more winter themed activities including a unit about polar animals.
The Cubs are learning all about fairy tales. We read the Three Billy Goats Gruff and made goats and trolls to represent the main characters. Next week we will be designing our own monsters. We will start our Mo Willems author study at the end of January. Stay tuned for all the excitement that Mo brings to our classroom.
Kindergarten has been busy learning about Arctic animals and the environments they live in. We also enjoy trying to catch snowflakes at recess! This month we are busy learning to count to 100 to prepare for our 100th day of school!
2nd graders love starting the new year learning a new and exciting skill: cursive handwriting!
In Music class 1st and 2nd grade students are working on writing their own musical composition. They are using xylophones to help them write their melodies and will be performing their musical works for their class. Kindergarten is working on echo songs, also known as call and response songs. These are songs where a leader sings something and everyone echoes what the singer just sang.
