Preschoolers have been busy with the holiday season. Some of the activities include making decorations for the hallway, creating stocking collages for what they want for Christmas and designing gingerbread houses.
Cubdergarten has been working hard on their fine-motor skills, journal writing, and creating a variety of winter crafts. The Cubs also had a “Teddy Bear Day” to celebrate the letter T. We taught our teddy bears all about what a day in cub is like and all of the things we have learned so far!
Kindergarten has been busy traveling the world learning about holiday traditions and comparing how they celebrate to America! We hope everyone has a Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!
December has been a month full of festive cheer and memorable experiences in first grade! Our students have been busy learning, creating, and celebrating the season in meaningful and exciting ways.
One highlight of the month was our Christmas Around the World Day. Students had the opportunity to "travel" to each of the first-grade classrooms, where they learned how Christmas is celebrated in different parts of the world. From exploring traditions to hearing stories from other cultures, the day was both educational and fun for everyone!
Another favorite activity was our Christmas Fun Rotation. Students rotated through the first-grade classrooms to participate in various Christmas-themed activities. Whether it was games, crafts, or other festive surprises, the joy and laughter were contagious as everyone joined in the holiday spirit.
In addition to these special events, our classrooms have been filled with the sounds and sights of the season. Students have enjoyed listening to Christmas stories, creating beautiful crafts, a virtual trip to a reindeer farm, and are working hard on special gifts for their parents, and singing holiday songs together.
It has truly been a fun and festive month in first grade, and we are so proud of the excitement and enthusiasm our students have shown. Wishing all of our first-grade families a wonderful holiday season and a Happy New Year!
The 2nd grade was back again with their annual Macy’s Day parade through the halls of Bryan Elementary. This was a culmination of a grade-level stem project involving the story: Balloons Over Broadway.
In November, Bryan Elementary changed things up a bit and held a food drive to support our in house Bear Bag program. We set goals, students rose to the occasion reaching ALL the challenges and stocked the shelves for us.
Well, the ultimate reward day finally arrived - the guidance counselors and admin were to wear inflatable costumes for the day! As an added bonus all staff members were invited to join in on the dress up fun and surprise the kids.
“In a world where you can be anything, be kind…Unless you can be a unicorn, then be a unicorn!”
In PE class we've been working on underhand tossing and underhand rolling skills. 2nd grade working on developing their overhand hand throwing technique. We've utilized games like; Corn Hole, Tic-Tac-Toe, Ant in the Pants, Flip the Hoop, and Space Invaders to develop these skills and put them into game situations. 1st grade is also getting ready to start their Bowling Tournament when we return from break. The last week of school we'll be getting our "Christmas Spirit" on with games like; Capture the Snowman, Do You Want to Build a Snowman, Santa's Helpers, Elf Express and one of the all time favorites...The Grinch Game.
All of us from Preschool to 2nd Grade, wish your families a blessed holiday season full of love, laughter and memories made!
