The Land Between Two Rivers
Mesopotamia is located in the southwestern Asia or modern day Iraq. The name comes is Greek for "Between Rivers" and the name refers to the Tigris River and the Euphrates River. This area is also referred to as "The Fertile Crescent" and "The Cradle of Civillation. Mesopotamia benefited from the regions climate and geographic features, which helped the early human civilizations. This area culture influenced and spread throughout the Middle East, the Indus River Valley, Egypt, and the Mediterranean.
