Before Persia was made, the eventual founder (Cyrus the Great) was next in line to inherit the throne to the district of Anshan. In 559 B.C.E. is when he was promoted to that level. Once he got to the throne he started gathering other tribes for a plan. He was going to revolt against his Median overlord, Astyages. He didn't like the way Astyages ruled over his people. He thought of Astyages as a cruel individual. 554 B.C.E. is when he inacted his plan. In 549 B.C.E. Cyrus the Great founded Persia by merging the Medes tribes and the Persian tribes into one.
Geography
The Persian Empire had many geographic strengths and continued to gain these strengths as the empire continued to conquer more land. Some of the geography included seas and rivers which served as routes for trade which aided the empire. After conquering the fertile crescent, land near the Tigris and Euphrates river, the empire had access to the good land for farming and growing crops. The Persians also conquered the Hindu Kusch mountains which were natural barriers protecting the empire from outside invaders.
