GRADING
Projects make up 85% of a student’s grade. Each project will be graded on the following criteria: Planning (Brainstorming/Sketching/References), Creating (Problem Solving/Motivation/Demonstration of Skills & Knowledge), Responding (Feedback/Revision/Critiques), Resolving (Finished Product/Craftsmanship) & Communicating (Presentation/Organization/Self-Assessment). Each section is scored on a five point rubric scale. Points are added up and averaged, then converted to grades out of 100 points.
Sketchbooks make up 15% of a student’s grade.
The sketchbooks in Drawing are more involved than ones given in Studio in Art and therefore require more time. Your grade will significantly rely on how much time and effort you put into each assignment. You will receive Slides presentation that includes all the sketchbook assignments and examples. Due dates will be posted in Google Classroom.
See assignments and examples below.

DISPLAYING OF ARTWORK
Artwork will be on display throughout the year in the hallways at school, culminating with the district-wide art show in May. Each student will have least one work of art in the show. All projects will remain at school until the end of the year, when a portfolio assessment/reflection is completed.
