SCRATCH Programming

Resources

Introduce To Students

  • Before introducing this to students I suggest exploring some non-digital programming, like the human robot, or graph paper coding.

  • Have students create accounts (teacher needs to save the password). Use teacher email for guardian, so that passwords can be reset by the teacher if needed.

  • Have students complete some of the tutorials form: https://scratch.mit.edu/projects/editor/?tutorial=all

  • Activity Ideas

    • Have students use Explore to find a pre-built program and then use the "Remix" option and let them change something in the game.

    • Try the having them complete the: Surprise Story Lesson

Earn A Badge

  • Badges are earned by showing proficiency of coding beyond grade level expectations.
