1 Cricut that can be brought to the classroom
Currier, Flood Brook & MEMS have Cricuts accessible to teachers in their libraries.
Iron could be made available for fabric applications.
The teacher must provide the printing materials.
The design software for printing requires Windows or Mac.
Students can design using Google Draw or Photopea.com and export as PNG file (transparent background)
Learning happens by the creating content to be printed, or by utilizing activities created by the teacher. Teachers can either use the Cricut to build more permanent content (ABC's on the wall), or students can create content aligned with the proficiencies they are working toward.
Assignment: Name your water bottle
With prior approval from parents, have students bring in a water bottle they can personalize with their name.
Have students open up Google Draw (basic) or Photopea.com (advanced)
Each drawing must be done using a single color
Students can use shapes and imported (solid color) images to make their name unique
Students should test their prints using regular paper and the marker attachment of the Cricut.
Students then can cut out their name and see how it will fit on their water bottle.
Once approved students can print their names on a vinyl sticker.
With assistance students will attach the sticker to their water bottles.
Badge proficiency should be determined by the teacher based on grade level expectations
