Students should bring a healthy snack and water bottle daily. Please, label everything with your child's name. Students who do not choose to get a school lunch should bring a healthy lunch from home every day. TK students eat lunch before dismissal.
Students should bring their snacks & lunches in a soft-sided lunch bag that zips shut. This type of lunchbox keeps their food secure from seagulls and ants. Please, send containers and water bottles that students can learn to open on their own. If your child's snack or lunch requires eating utensils, please send those as well in their lunchbox. See the information below regarding our on-campus breakfast and lunch option.
Consistent with California’s Universal Meals requirement, the District will continue to offer breakfast and lunch daily to students requesting a meal at no cost. The District’s meals vendor for the 25-26 school year will be LunchMaster.
BRSSD uses a District-ordered model for all schools for both breakfast and lunch. This means that the District will place meal orders directly with the vendor, with no family pre-orders. Each school will send information to families in advance regarding menu options for the week, which will include allergen information. Families, including those of students with food allergies or dietary restrictions, should use the menu to plan for days when they may prefer to send their child to school with a meal from home based on the menu offerings.
The United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) is the government body that overseas food production and helps regulate food safety standards for our nation.
