Wear protective clothing, as well as a Personal Floatation Device (PFD). All riders must wear a certified PFD that is suitable for Personal Watercraft (PWC) / Boat use. Although not a legal requirement, it is also a requirement of BRP that all drivers and passengers are wearing neoprene bottoms whilst using the EVP units.
Keep the engine shut of key cord attached to your PFD at all times; keep it free from the handlebars so that the engine shuts off should you, the operator, come off the vehicle. After riding, remove the cord from PWC to avoid unauthorised use by children or others.
When riding; do not apply the throttle if anyone is at the rear of the PWC - turn engine off or keep engine at idle. Keep away from the intake grate whilst the engine is on. Remember - you must apply the throttle to turn.
Scan constantly for people, objects, and other watercraft. Be alert for conditions that limit your visibility or block your vision of others. Do not go near others to try spray or splash them with water. Do not ride erratically. Be prepared to stop or alter course in emergencies (Keep right when approaching other vessels).
Know local boating laws. If applicable by state; always ensure your PWC license is on you and follow navigation rules and provincial/state and local laws that apply to PWC / Boat. Know the waters you will operate in, and observe all navigational marks and signs. Ignorance is not an excuse.
DO NOT USE ALCOHOL OR DRUGS before and during operation (Both Driver/ passenger)
When using EVP units, you are acting as a representative for both the brand and the company; ensure that the riders pledge (below) is always adhered to.
