ABOUT THE PROGRAM

Brown University's Bridge Scholars Program (BSP) is a free six-week hybrid summer leadership institute that is designed to provide a diverse cohort of incoming first-year students with an opportunity to experience the academic, social, and co-curricular aspects of life at Brown prior to the start of the fall semester. During the program, our Bridge Scholars will be fully engaged in Brown's dynamic academic environment by engaging and earning one full academic credit as they engage in two seminar-styled courses. Throughout their coursework scholars will explore ideas of culture and leadership, build skills in communicating effectively across cultures, develop the skills necessary to be leaders in building a reflective Brown community, and much more. In addition to the curricular components, the program will support scholars in building a strong and supportive peer community, establishing connections with professors and staff, becoming familiar with on-campus resources and immersing themselves in exciting co-curricular and extracurricular activities. By the end of the program, scholars will be well-prepared to take on the challenges of Brown's Open Curriculum, seek out exciting educational opportunities, and establish connections that will continue to sustain them throughout their time at Brown University.
